How to unlock a CPU core (Single-core into Dual-core)
Some newer AMD CPUs can be converted from single-core to double-core. With the proper mainboard you can make some adjustments from the BIOS and enable the other core(s) of your AMD processor. In this case a single-core Sempron 140 CPU’s second officially turned off core is enabled and thus the CPU is recognized by Windows as a dual-core Athlon II X2 4400e. The mainboard used in this setup is: Asrock N68C-S UCC (UCC = Unlock CPU Core) Other mainboards from other manufacturers are different, thus the UCC function is not available anywhere. NEW !!! – Now the CPU is overclocked and works stably at max. 3250 MHz, more than that and errors appear on the screen, or even refuses to boot up at 3500 MHz.
